Chamwino
Tuesday I was off to Chamwino.. quite a poor neighbourhood as i have probably mentioned before. Joey, you would be proud of me! We always rent a bike when we have work in Chamwino, and it is pretty much like off roading. There are a gazillion pot holes, and once we are in chamwino, the road has rocks sticking out of it everywhere.. i usually am laughing most of the way there because of all the bouncing, nearly falling, and extremely squeaky breaks..we can make a symphony of squeaks when we are all biking there together haha.
we got there early in hopes of meeting the womens net ball team to try and figure out a schedule for practising.. no one showed up. while we were waiting though, there were tons of kids, so we dicided to draw hop-scotch in the dirt and tic-tac-toe.. they seemed to like that. Then it was time for me and Gina to set up for our literacy for business class. It was to start at 10am. 9:50…no one.. 9:55.. nothing.. 9:58.. two people show up.. 10am.. a grand total of 3 people. It was then suggested that we move the class to a later time.. maybe the afternoon as it would be better for a lot of people.
The class ended up going well though, by 11am, we had about 8 people, and by the end (12pm) we had 12 people, and i mix of girls and guys.. so that was awesome. we have another class tomorrow and hopefully more people will show up! Tuesday ended up being a rather easy day because net ball has not started yet.. usually that will happen around 4 or 5 pm.
It is now Wednesday afternoon which is my easiest day.. I just have the Faraja head office in the morning from 8-12. I am almost out of time so I will leave it at that.. today wasnt all that interesting anyways!
Ohhhh ya.. we are most likely doing a day safari at the Makumi national park that is really close to morogoro..i cant wait! We are also most likely going to a club on saturday for valentines day! that should be interesting, there will be 3 “big” names preforming there who are from various parts of africa. You have to get tickets and everything, but Makho (a YCI staff member) is preforming there and should be able to get us tickets..I am the most excited about the safari though, I will let you know how that goes!!
What kind of bike to you have?
It’s a Sledgehammer.
