Sand boarding
The next day consisted of more lounging around the laguna and the pool during the day.
In the evening we went sand boarding around 4pm, which is when most companies go so you aren’t in the sand dunes during the hottest part of the day. They take you up on big 15 person dune buggys. I had heard that the riding around was half the fun of the trip and they were right. Our driver was speeding around taking us up the banks of dunes and going over the top of steep ones. We ended up stopping at about 5 different dunes to do the sandboarding. We started small and everyone was a little timid going down, not sure if we should try going on our bum, feet or stomach. Most of us failed miserably going down on our bum – I lost my board half way down, and some attempted going on their feet. The next dune was small and I tried going on my feet and was partially successful until I decided to bail because I didn’t want to get going too fast. The last few dunes were the most fun when we discovered going down on your stomach. You could get going the fastest on your stomach and it was quite a thrill starring down a huge steep dune face first! With going later in the afternoon we were also able to see a nice sunset from the dunes before getting back to the hostel.
We had dinner with a super nice couple of girls we met from England the previous night before going to sleep.
Cool! Sounds like so much fun!!
