Cruise – day 1
The start of the cruise was a bit of an interesting day…basically we ended up waiting around for about three hours before we did anything. We were told we were starting in the morning, but didn’t end up going anywhere before 3pm. The first excursion before even getting on the boat was exploring the highlands on Santa Cruz. We went to a tortoise farm and learned everything there was to know about them. We also walked through huge lava tunnels that were formed underground years ago.
Finally after the excursion and a bit more chaos we met our guide who would be with us on the boat and boarded the boat! It is a 16 person ship, but there are only 14 passengers on this cruise. We had dinner on the boat before leaving the harbour and starting towards our first destination for the next day. The sleep while the boat was moving wasn’t easy because there was a lot of rocking, but thankfully we didn’t sail the whole night and could get a few solid hours of sleep in!
