Isabela island
Thus morning we got up in good time so we could make the most of the day since we would be heading back to the main island in the afternoon. We had breakfast and then walked down the beach for a while. It wasn’t busy at all so it felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Later on we walked down to a bay that was beautiful to swim in because there were rocks blocking the waves from coming in. There were penguins zipping around as well but they are difficult to see when you are in the water.
After enjoying as much of the sand and sun that we could we packed up and caught a derry back to Santa Cruz. While we were waiting on the pier we saw a manta ray swim by. I couldn’t believe how big they are as I hadn’t ever seen one up close before. It had to be about 5ft wide and 4ft long. The ferry ride was about 3.5 hours long so I just tried to sleep.
When we got to the island we were pleasantly surprised to see some of the others from the cruise. Long story short, the last day of their cruise (the people who did 8 days) got cancelled because the guy who set everything up who was the middle man between a number of agencies and the boat owner lost all our money due to a gambling problem. It was cheaper for the owner to refund the others than it was to send the boat to the other island and back. We ended up hanging out as a group again and had dinner together.
