I have been on the computer a bit the past week, but havent had the time to do an update/ catch up!! We have been super busy as it is the last week of programming. The programming last week were good. It was nice because there were a couple of guest speakers which meant that i didnt have to plan much! we went to one of the grocery stores, Murad’s, that we love.. it has a good number of familiar foods.. the owner asked how are you? in English and as usual, i replied slowly in my kindergarten voice “I’m fine thank you, how are you?” …that is the line that children learn in school so if you reply anything different, they have no idea what you are saying haha.. turns out the guy is from montreal! so he can speak perfectly good english..turns out, he is Murad!! it was kinda cool so we talked for a bit and then went on our way.

Michelle and I seem to have a mjuicy (lizard) friend in our room lately.. at least when it rains.. it always comes in from a hole in the roof and crawls around the walls.. of course the family thought it was quite funny when we decided to notify them because they are very common around here.. we were hoping they would trap it and put it outside, but the dad just hit the wall and tried to direct it back into the hole… that didnt quite work so he just left it there!!! ahhh…. thankfully michelle and i had purchased an insect spray from the last issue with ants.. i decided to give it a try and it seems to work for a while at least.. he still comes to visit us but i have the spray ready now!!!

I have been continuing to beat my previous records on how long i go without showering.. or washing my hair at least.. i think i am up to about 9 days now.. once you get to 4 days its all the same..even after showering you are sweating shortly after. so really…what is the point of trying?? haha.. Gross, i know! I have been getting more lazy with doing my laundry too.. i just do them until they smell good.. getting the dirt out here is almost impossible.. it is quite reddish and stains things nicely..

Some of the words in Swahili make me laugh.. if they dont have a word for it, they often just say the word in english and add an “i” to itor even if they are just speaking in english there are “i”s thrown in everywhere!.. like “worki” and bicyckeli”…

i have run outta time once again and i am still not caught up on the past weekend.. hopefully i will have time to update again tomorrow..
