Mancora
We finally arrived in Mancora around 2pm the next day after having to hop from bus to bus to make our way here as there was no direct bus. It was a long night and day of travelling but we didn’t want to waste another night in a town just to rest, so we pushed through!
Mancora has been amazing. It is a small beach town on the northern coast of Peru a few hours away from the border of Ecuador. The weather is warm here tear round and they have quite a long beach. The first afternoon here was mostly spent relaxing because we were so tired from the travelling.
For the third time we met up with a couple we met in Huacachina and hung out with them for the evening watching the Grey Cup. They are huge riders fans and had their parents on live video chat with the camera on the game so we could watch! The quality was surprisingly good and it made for an entertaining evening.
The place we are staying is beautiful. It is off the beach perched on a mountain just on the other side of the main road in town so we have an amazing view of the water, a nice breeze and is quieter than the places on the main strip.
The second day here we all decided to try surfing. The instructors were fantastic and we all got up a number of times! It was a ton of fun, but so much more tiring then I thought. My muscles are still sore a couple days later from it! It was a ton of fun, and if we don’t end up trying again while we are here,i will definitely be going again when we stop in some of the surf towns in Ecuador.
Part of the day yesterday was spent soaking up the sun on the beach while getting blasted by the sand. It was nice for a little while, but after going for a swim in the ocean to get all the sand off we decided to go back up to the bungalow and enjoy the rest of the day in the hammock relaxing while overlooking the water below!
I’ll stop talking about the hot sunny weather for now as you guys are suffering through the cold 🙂 We are spending at least another day here before making our way to Ecuador to continue our adventure in a new country!
